In what form could today's objects have existed, or did exist, 2000 years ago? The aim of this exhibition is to
take a fresh look at the Gallo-Roman period, to identify the strategies which could be linked with those of
designers of today. This concerns daily life, decoration, architecture and town-planning. Using collections and
existing reconstitutions at Saint-Romain-en-Gal/Vienne, the visitor can examine the evolution of the function
and aesthetics of objects between the Gallo-Roman period and today.
