We all have holiday souvenirs in the back of our cupboards: vases that have never been used, aperitif sets used with friends at the campsite, the seashell nightlight from our childhood... Souvenirs, souvenirs is all about souvenirs and ceramics. Because, beyond their "madeleine de Proust" effect, these objects are charged with the social history of the Thirty Glorious (the 30 year post war boom): that of the first holidays at the seaside then in the mountains, of flats where the living room and the TV appear, of those convivial times of the aperitif or the raclette. These were the beginnings of hyper-consumption and mass tourism. In a boldly staged space, the pop colours and unbridled shapes of these objects evoke memories, aided by a playlist that everyone can relate to!
