From 22 May to 7 July
At the origin of the
Saint-Étienne International Design Biennial, there was the school, the
impetus of student initiatives and an abundant collective energy that
brought people together rather than dividing them. Today, the ppdesigner
collective is returning to this common source that unites them as
former students of Ésad Saint-Étienne. They are proud to be highlighting
the influences and variety of approaches that have emerged from the
school, and the Futuribles exhibition will be set up in five showcases
on the Place Jean-Jaurès.
Over the course of a few weeks,
designers and artists who may never have crossed paths before will see
their objects and work in dialogue with each other in these dioramas.
Futuribles does not aim to provide an exhaustive overview of the
designers and artists who have emerged from the school, but rather to
offer a glimpse of possible trajectories.
Audio interviews present
artists and designers whose work goes beyond the framework of the
containers - in terms of its format, its theoretical nature or the
context in which it was produced. They can be accessed on the ppdesigner.fr. website.
These installations will offer a glimpse of the
many possible paths after Ésad Saint-Étienne.
