Sampo

This paradoxical object is a concentrate of technology in a decorated box created by a craftsman. A mobile work tool that liberates the creativity of the musician in him by opening up real-time control of electro-acoustic parameters to him with simple actions. The exhibition traces the development from the first prototype 20 years ago through to the latest boxes made in Saint-Étienne in 2017 and the setting up of e network of conservatoires including Sampo in their syllabus.
