Mutations d'Hier : La Table-Mémoire

Blandine Leroudier

A reflection on the changes that have taken place over the last hundred years. The object presented is a rusty metal desk, with completely pared down lines. The photo-ceramics show scenes from the beginning of the 20th century. This simple, tough past inevitably touches us.

The reflection is centred not on the changes coming in the future, but on those that have taken place over the last hundred years. The project consists of imagining a sort of memory desk.
The shape of the table is very simple and it is made of rusty metal. The top is inlaid with photo-ceramic plates. On them we can see work scenes dating from the beginning of the 20th century: a life that was both simple and tough. The world has changed, and yet this past, which is nothing like our present, touches us deeply.
