Allumer la ville

"Allumer la ville" (Light up the city) is a research project conducted by the Cité du Design in partnership with the City of Saint-Étienne and Philips. Its ambition is question what public lighting means by reflecting on the role and place of light in the Tarentaize-Beaubrun neighbourhood. After a study on usages in the neighbourhood and work in a design laboratory, a lighting experiment is currently underway around Place Saint-Ennemond. New lighting equipment has been installed in order to try out new lighting scenarios adapted to usages in the neighbourhood. There will be a live presentation of the project on 6 April at the Médiathèque de Tarentaize, followed by a night-time walk around Place Saint-Ennemond.
