banc d’essai: Froissé, Lif et Manques

SAG France, a subsidiary of the international group SAG Motion, has possessed a renowned body of know-how in metalworking for several decades. The firm is based in L'Horme, in the Loire, and has embarked upon a design-based approach in order to develop its business on new markets. These objects are the result of the encounter between Franck Magné, designer, and the engineering department at SAG France. Firstly, they retain their affordance, that aptitude to fulfil and suggest a function, as well as a de-structured architecture offering as many different profiles as there are viewing angles. Secondly, they feature the careful production and optimisation of the processes of making the most reliable and customisable furniture. The object-signs, the bins and ashtrays presented here immediately evoke their function, in the messy jumble of the public space.
